Concessions Worker

POSITION: Concession Worker
DEPARTMENT: Savor….Food & Beverage
REPORTS TO: Concessions Manager

SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has excellent and immediate openings for Concession Workers at the Pinnacle Bank Arena. The Concessions Worker reports to the Concessions Manager and operates the concession stand in accordance with SMG’s policies and procedures and is responsible for providing a quality product to patrons in a courteous, friendly and efficient manner and utilizing our Guest Service Standards and Responsible Alcohol Service in all transactions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Follows Concession Manager/Supervisor’s assignments for opening procedures and food preparation
  • Prepares food and beverage items using proper procedures and sanitation guidelines
  • Is cost conscious, does not over-portion and records all waste
  • Keeps work area and equipment neat and clean
  • Properly cleans equipment and follows the Concession Manager/Supervisor’s closing instructions
  • Properly records all transactions via the point of sale system and inform guests of amount owed.
  • Reports for work, is at stand on a timely basis and is in complete uiform with clothing and personal appearance neat and clean.
  • Maintains high standards of customer service by greeting all guests and being genuinely interested in their needs.
  • Acquaints guest with itmes for sale and upsells and adds on.
  • Serves alcoholic beverages responsibly and according to SAVOR policies and procedures.
  • Obtains the proper tender amount for each transaction and exchanges goods for tender.
  • Places the guest’s bill on the till and counts back change.
  • Ends transactions in a positive way.
  • Shows flexibility in rotating to other stands as assigned.
  • Sets a good example in cooperation, patience and effort.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent guest service skills; ability to adhere to Universal Service Standards of proper grooming and appearance are crucial
  • Ability to complete required pre-employment food and alcohol service training
  • Effective communication skills; ability to communicate with coworkers and guests and receive orders

  • Previous food handling experience preferred.

Concessions Stand Lead

  • Enforces all Pinnacle Bank Arena policies and procedures.
  • Complete inventory counts prior to an event.
  • Assigns associates duties.

Cook

POSITION: Cook
DEPARTMENT: Savor….Food & Beverage
REPORTS TO: Executive Chef
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt Hourly

SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has excellent and immediate openings for Cooks at the Pinnacle Bank Arena. The Cook reports to the Executive Chef and prepares and serves hot and/or cold food items, in accordance with SMG’s Universal Service Standards and applicable Operational Standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Properly prepares, measures, and portions all food items in a timely manner. Complies with all quality standards, department rules, policies and procedures
  • Utilizes and sets up kitchen equipment to prepare food items such as: knives, slicers, whips, pots, pans, warmers, steamers, grills, ovens, etc.; properly uses ALL kitchen equipment
  • Ensures proper food temperatures are maintained, food is stored correctly and ensures freshness and quality of all menu items
  • Packages all products to proper specifications    
  • Performs opening, closing and side work duties as instructed and according proper guidelines
  • Keeps workstation and equipment clean, organized, sanitized, and sufficiently stocked
  • Follows and upholds all health codes and sanitation regulations
  • Uses waste control guidelines and records all waste on spoilage sheet
  • Performs other duties assigned 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to read and understand recipes and food abbreviations
  • Pleasant and friendly; ability to adhere to Universal Service Standards 
  • Ability to communicate with others and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Attentive and detailed oriented and capable of following procedures and taking directions
  • Basic math skills; ability to understand, calculate and follow recipe measurements and proportions

Physical Requirements

  • Manual dexterity sufficient to chop, mix, blend, whip etc. a variety of foods and liquids
  • Ability to lift and carry large pans from ovens or freezers, weighing up to 50lbs and operate dangerous kitchen equipment
  • Ability to move rapidly and coordinate multiple orders
  • Ability to complete required pre-employment food service training
  • Standing and walking for entire length of shift
  • Frequently required to reach up to 6-7 feet, twist at waist, bending and squatting
  • Pushing and pulling occasionally, to move equipment, mops and brooms

Environmental Working Conditions

  • Kitchen environment – noise levels may be moderate to high
  • Works frequently in a hot and damp environment
  • In contact with sharp knives, slicers, boiling liquids, hot pans, etc

  • Frequently immerses hands in water

Education & Experience

  • High school education is desired; participation/enrollment in culinary program a plus
  • Minimum of 6 months- 1 year previous experience in back-of-the-house foodservice position preferred

Dishwasher

POSITION: Dishwasher

REPORTS TO: Executive Chef

SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has excellent and immediate openings for Dishwashers at the Pinnacle Bank Arena. The Dishwasher reports to the Executive Chef, maintains the dish room and dishwashing machine, and washes and properly stores all dishes, in accordance with SMG’s applicable standards and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Washes dishes, glassware, pots, pans, flatware and kitchen items, using dish machines or by hand
  • Places clean dishes, utensils and cooking equipment in storage areas
  • Cleans work area including equipment, floors, walls and cooking area
  • Ensures that all levels for sanitizer on dish machine and pot sinks are at specific requirements for health standards
  • Keeps all kitchen wares storage areas clean and orderly
  • Removes trash from dishroom and transports to dumpster and cleans and sanitizes garbage cans 
  • Stocks supplies such as food, dishes, and utensils in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators and salad bars
  • Assists with accepting delivery items and storage of such items
  • Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas, by hand or using hand trucks
  • Assists in cleaning and preparing various foods for cooking or serving as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Food & Beverage duties (if applicable)

  • Follows Executive Chef/Supervisor’s assignments for opening and closing procedures
  • Prepares food and beverage items using proper preparation procedures and sanitation guidelines
  • Keeps work area and equipment neat and clean

  • Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 60 pounds and place items on high and low shelves in storerooms and freezers

Environmental Services Attendant

JOB TITLE: Environmental Services Attendant

FLSA STATUS: PT Hourly, Non-Exempt

SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has excellent and immediate openings for a Environmental Services Attendants at SMG Lincoln. The Environmental Service Attendant report to the Environmental Services Supervisor and is primarily responsible for cleaning and waste/trash disposal.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Maintain restrooms and/or areas of the facility before, during, and after events.
  • Perform cleaning and janitorial tasks as required or assigned. These include, but not limited to, replenishing supplies, sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, vacuuming, washing and waxing.
  • Empty trash and wastebaskets. Transport trash and waste to proper disposal areas.
  • Make minor repairs such as painting, patching and replacing light fixtures and filters, when applicable.
  • Set-up & tear-down of tables and chairs for events.
  • Assist with event set-up, tear-down and clean-up.
  • Clean restrooms and replenish supplies.

Knowledge, Ablilites and Skills:

  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form
  • Work independently, exercising good judgment and initiative
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons, and others while working
  • Ability to work flexible hours including daytime, evening, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, stooping, lifting and walking. Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Physical demands of prolonged repetitive motions normally associated with mopping, sweeping, buffing, dusting, and climbing.
  • Ability to work inside or outside environments

Training and Experience:

Operations Crew Member

JOB TITLE: Operations Crew Member

SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has excellent and immediate openings for Operations Crew Members at SMG Lincoln. The Operations Crew Member reports to the Operations Supervisor and is primarily responsible for performing work as needed to clean, maintain and prepare for events at the facility. Duties include skilled and semi-skilled tasks, which often require heavy lifting and a high degree of physical exertion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Participate in all aspects of the conversion process in preparation for events. Duties may include setting up and tearing down flooring, portable chairs, barricades, staging, tables, other furnishings and equipment.
  • Perform varies duties to ensure the day-to-day operations of the facility are met. These include, but are not limited to loading/unloading delivery trucks, transporting trash and waste to proper disposal area and replenishing supplies.
  • Assist with pre/post event cleaning and janitorial tasks including, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, vacuuming, spot cleaning, washing, stripping, carpet cleaning, window washing and waxing.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance tasks such as painting, patching, re-lamping, replacing ceiling tile, replacing filters, etc.
  • Report irregularities, discrepancies, safety or damage concerns or loss of property promptly to Operations Supervisor.
  • Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed.

Knowledge, Ablilites and Skills:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of practices and procedures related to event set-up and conversions; typical methods and techniques for cleaning and maintaining the facility; and proper use and care of hand and power tools.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Follow all policies/procedures, risk management, safety precautions, rules, regulations and emergency procedures established at the facility.
  • Meet the physical demands of the job. Must perform strenuous physical duties at times, including lifting, carrying, moving and climbing.
  • Operate equipment such as light trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, boom lifts, Zamboni machine, scrubbing machines or other light power driven equipment.
  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with other in both oral and written form.
  • Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.

Position Summary

  • Oversees operation of assigned to Suite and Club areas, supervises associates in accordance with the Company's Universal Service standards and applicable Operational Standards and assists management in performing inventory counts

Qualifications

  • Ideal candidates must have strong verbal communication skills and a professional demeanor. They must have prior supervisor experience, be self-motivated and be able to stand for long periods of times.candidate must be personable and guest service driven

Essential Functions

  • Supervises and coordinates activities of concession associates on a per shift basis, including scheduling, training, counseling and enforcing work procedures and service standards
  • observes, evaluates, and documents job performance of attendants, leaders, and assists with guest's needs
  • Ensures that all equipment is set up properly and operating efficiently and accurately
  • Analyzes and resolves all problems with associates, guests and the operation with the assistance of management
  • Estimates, requests, and inspects supplies and inventory

Education & Experience
