Box Office Manager

POSITION: Box Office Manager
DEPARTMENT: Box Office
REPORTS TO: Director of Finance

Summary

  • SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for the Box Office Manager for Pinnacle Bank Arena. This position oversees ticket sales and all aspects of box office operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Directs and oversees the internal control of daily operations as outlined in the SMG Box Office Manual.
  • Coordinates all event information between the promoter, facility personnel and the ticket company in a timely manner.
  • Works with event promoter and appropriate personnel to establish ticket pricing and seating configuration.
  • Builds and modifies all computer ticket events and issues computer access codes to facility management.
  • Coordinates with event promoters to establish the house scale for all ticket events.
  • Maintains communication with ticket company representatives for updates and/or revisions in computer operations.
  • Monitors daily ticket sales for all upcoming events and communicates information to the Director and promoter representative.
  • Prepares cash bank and daily accurate inventory of all tickets distributed and available for sale.
  • Prepares and presents the final box office statement for settlement of each event.
  • Responds to customer complaints and service requests to maintain a positive rapport with the ticket buying public.
  • Establishes files on each event that consist of seats on-hold for the building and promoter, complimentary ticket vouchers, event audits and ticket inventory schedules.
  • Assists or sells tickets as needed.
  • Opens and/or closes ticket window as required.
  • Accurately dispenses tickets as requested by patrons; accepts payment and makes change accurately.
  • Maintains accurate count when selling hard tickets or accesses computer for count of computer printed tickets.
  • Maintains accurate record of daily balance of cash received, tickets sold and change bank/vault.
  • Fills reservations for seats by telephone or mail, handles Will-Call window according to procedures or other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills, responds promptly to customer needs, responds to requests for service and assistance, able to work independently and handle most box office questions without assistance.  
  • Maintains accurate count of tickets sold, money received from ticket sellers and change banks.
  • Prepares and submits a daily report of business transactions.
  • Makes bank deposits.

Supervisory Responsibilities           

  • Supervises, schedules, instructs, and trains ticket sellers as to the proper selling procedures.  Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with SMG's policies and applicable laws.

POSITION SUMMARY

Kitchen Supervisor

JOB TITLE: Kitchen Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Food & Beverage
REPORTS TO: Sous Chef

  • The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and training of the kitchen staff, in addition to production, quality assurance and profitability of all menu items at the Arena.  The Kitchen Supervisor reports directly to the Sous Chef.  The Kitchen Supervisor will assist with the creation of recipes for menu items, supervise line cooks to ensure quality control are adhered too and assist with the control of inventory.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist with menu planning and maintaining a high level of quality and profitability in all Food & Beverage offering. Shall include input into capturing and capitalizing on foodservice trends with Culinary Chefs
  • Recommend and implement preparation to reduce costs of goods sold (COGS) and supervise all kitchen personnel to insure correct methodologies are followed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area adhering to food safety and health standards.
  • Prioritize and delegate tasks in kitchen layout and prep. Techniques to insure speed and quality of menu
  • Maintain par-stocks of food product for all menu items
  • Requisition through Chefs all product required in a timely manner for prompt delivery to kitchens and clientele
  • Ensures food ingredients are stored in their designated area and rotated in the proper manner.
  • Provide input into catering menus and develop new menu items
  • Handles and trains others to clean kitchen equipment carefully and safely to prevent damage or injury.
  • Works efficiently and effectively to gather, wash, cut, season, cook and store quality ingredients.
  • Monitor menu item volumes and sales mix with Kitchen Supervisor to ensure par-stocks are maintained.
  • Must adhere to SMG dress code which includes black pants and black non-slip soled closed toe shoes.
  • Responsible for making sure all closing duties are completed before leaving the building.

  • Minimum 2 years combined kitchen/cooking experience, supervisory/ management experience, and industry related culinary/ hospitality post-secondary education.

Operations Coordinator

The Operations Coordinator reports to the Operations Manager, under general supervision, and is responsible for supervision and direction of operations event staff in their duties of general building cleaning, as well as event room/hall set-ups and breakdowns as required by clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Includes the following.  Other duties may be assigned.
  • Supervises and assists utility workers and temporary labor workers in the general cleaning of the facility.
  • Supervises and assists utility workers and temporary labor workers in the set-up of tables, chairs, risers and other associated equipment required for all events and concourse set-ups.
  • Works with the Operations Manager and the Operations Supervisor in the development of daily work tasks sheets and ensures that these tasks are completed in a efficient manner.
  • Trains staff in specifics of responsibilities and expectations and works with staff to develop and maintain a service-oriented attitude.
  • Assists in the development and compliance of safety and emergency procedures for the department.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises a crew of part-time employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with SMG’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Warehouse Runner/Porter

POSITION: Warehouse Runner/Porter
DEPARTMENT: Savor….Food & Beverage
REPORTS TO: Warehouse Manager
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt Hourly

SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has excellent and immediate openings for Warehouse Porters at the Pinnacle Bank Arena. The Warehouse Porter assists the Warehouse Manager in delivering product orders to the concession stands. To help the Concessions Manager maintain adequate inventory levels and perform assigned tasks to help maintain operational standards of the concession stand in accordance with SMG’s Universal Service Standards (and applicable Operational Standards).

Essential Functions

  • Presents a cooperative work attitude and cheerfully accepts job responsibilities
  • Delivers appropriate stock to all concession stands, portables and commissaries
  • Learns correct containers and food products used in portables and stands
  • Properly cleans commissaries, concession stands and portables, as assigned
  • Reports all needed stand repairs to the Commissary Manager
  • Must adhere to the SMG dress code which includes wearing non-slip soled closed toe shoes
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Pleasant and friendly, enjoys working with people
  •  Able to work 7 or more hours in a fast paced environment
  •  Able to correctly answer math questions
  •  Be capable of following job procedures and supervisor instructions

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and remain stationary for entire length of shift
  • Constant walking, bending, reaching and repetitive motions
  • Ability to perform normal lifting of stock, up to 50 pounds
  • May be exposed to variable temperatures, including extreme hot and cold, depending on season
  • May be required to work in confined and/or narrow spaces 
  • Must be 18 years or age or older. 

Education and Experience

  • Prior warehouse/stock experience preferred
  •  Knowledge of tow motors, power/pallet jacks and Cushman carts
