Alcohol Compliance Supervisor

POSITION: Alcohol Compliance Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Food & Beverage
LOCATION: Pinnacle Bank Arena, Pinewood Bowl, Other SMG Venues
REPORTS TO: Concession Manager
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt Hourly

POSITION SUMMARY

  • The Alcohol Compliance Supervisor ensures that all local and state of Nebraska liquor laws are followed at Pinnacle Bank Arena, Pinewood Bowl and other SMG venues.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Recognize and react to alcohol violations and get assistance as needed.
  • Work during alcohol events at Pinnacle Bank Arena, Pinewood Bowl and other SMG venues.
  • Observe and report any policy violation of SMG staff and non-profit groups. 
  • Report guest issues to Manager on Duty.
  • Check ID of persons drinking alcohol if they appear to be under the ages of 35.
  • Actively walk Arena floor during events to monitor that the allowed number of alcoholic beverages are being purchased by patrons.
  • Follow rules and serving regulations set forth by the State of Nebraska and Pinnacle Bank Arena.
  • Communicate activities at the end of the shift to the Manager on Duty.
  • Reports to Concessions Manager or Manager on Duty for assigned location(s).
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Concessions Manager or Manager on Duty.
  • Other duties as assigned.

DUTIES & SKILLS

  • Good communication skills required.
  • Greet guests in a friendly manner and be professional at all times.
  • Ability to handle money and make correct change.
  • Ability to m ove quickly in a safe manner.
  • Stay calm under pressure.
  • Neat and clean and well-groomed appearance. 
  • Minimum age 19 years of age.
  • Ability to obtain Responsible Beverage Server training, General Alcohol permit and Serve/Safe (City Alcohol permit within two months of hire.
  • Bartending experience required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, wipe, push and pull.
  • Positive attitude and neat appearance.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Flexible hours including weekends, holidays and evenings.
  • Work hours are event related and not guaranteed.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIECE

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in Hospitality and or Customer Service.
  • Ability to ask for ID from someone drinking alcohol with common characteristics of an underage patron.

The Concessions Attendant reports to the Concessions Manager and operates the concession stand in accordance with SMG’s policies and procedures and is responsible for providing a quality product to patrons in a courteous, friendly and efficient manner and utilizing our Guest Service Standards and Responsible Alcohol Service in all transactions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Follows Concession Manager/Supervisor’s assignments for opening procedures and food preparation
  • Prepares food and beverage items using proper procedures and sanitation guidelines
  • Is cost conscious, does not over-portion and records all waste
  • Keeps work area and equipment neat and clean
  • Properly cleans equipment and follows the Concession Manager/Supervisor’s closing instructions
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent guest service skills; ability to adhere to Universal Service Standards of proper grooming and appearance are crucial
  • Ability to complete required pre-employment food and alcohol service training

The Dishwasher reports to the Sous Chef Chef, maintains the dish room and dishwashing machine, and washes and properly stores all dishes, in accordance with SMG’s applicable standards and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Washes dishes, glassware, pots, pans, flatware and kitchen items, using dish machines or by hand
  • Places clean dishes, utensils and cooking equipment in storage areas
  • Cleans work area including equipment, floors, walls and cooking area
  • Ensures that all levels for sanitizer on dish machine and pot sinks are at specific requirements for health standards
  • Keeps all kitchen wares storage areas clean and orderly
  • Removes trash from dish room and transports to dumpster and cleans and sanitizes garbage cans 
  • Stocks supplies such as food, dishes, and utensils in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators and salad bars
  • Assists with accepting delivery items and storage of such items
  • Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas, by hand or using hand trucks
  • Assists in cleaning and preparing various foods for cooking or serving as needed

Building Security Guard

JOB TITLE: Building Security Guard
REPORTS TO:  Security Manager
FLSA STATUS:  PT Hourly, Non-Exempt    

SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for a Building Security Guard.  This position under general supervision of the Security Manager patrols assigned areas and protects patrons and property.  This position works 12:00am (midnight) to 8:00am on Wednesdays and/or Thursdays.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Include the following.  Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
  • Tour post periodically to ensure safety of patrons, staff, vendors, participants and others on premises.
  • Handle any disturbances or problems that arise during event or at the facility.  If necessary, escort disruptive individual(s) to security office and/or off the premises.
  • Write incident reports and meet with security manager to review procedures.
  • Inspect alarms and fire extinguishers/sprinkler systems to ascertain they are set to operate.
  • Inspect premises for signs of intrusion or tampering.
  • Tour facility, examining doors, windows and gates to ensure they are secure.
  • Assist with crowd control inside and outside of premises.
  • Control unusual circumstances and events during fire, storms, riots and other emergencies.
  • Respond immediately to emergency situations -- answer alarms and investigate disturbances.  
  • Act in a professional manner with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons and others encountered in the course of employment.
  • Document all shipping and receiving.
  • Keep record of all keys and other facility equipment that are signed out.
  • Work part-time extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Must be able to pass background and credit check.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Demonstrate knowledge of security issues related to a major sports and entertainment venue.
  • Handle conflicts, make common sense decisions and exercise proper action during high tension and stressful situations.
  • Meet the physical demands of this job, which include being able to get in and around the facility, lifting 50 pounds,  extensive walking to patrol all parts of building including all stairwells, climbing and moderate to loud noises.
  • Operate equipment such as light trucks, Gator, pallet jacks, forklifts, genie lifts, carts fire extinguishers or other light power driven equipment.
  • Operate a personal computer using Windows and Microsoft Office software.
  • Operate portable radio and standard office equipment including copier and fax machine.
  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with other in both oral and written form.

Prep Cook
