About The Event
Since officially opening its doors for the first time on August 29, 2013, Pinnacle Bank Arena, managed by ASM Global, marks its 10th anniversary in 2023. In the past 10 years, the 15,500-seat multi-purpose arena has hosted over 200 unique ticketed events, ranging from professional sports to national concert tours, world-renowned speakers, boxing, and wrestling. In addition, the venue hosted over 25 state high school tournaments, more than 300 University of Nebraska men's and women's basketball games, graduations, and conventions.
"The building has been nominated multiple times by industry trade publications nationally and internationally for its success," said Tim Savona, General Manager, Pinnacle Bank Arena. "Not only that, people often travel a great distance to see the events at Pinnacle Bank Arena, they stay in hotels, eat in our bars and restaurants when they are here; they experience multiple facets of our community. The vision of being an economic driver is being realized," Savona said.
Zach Bryan will bring his Burn, Burn, Burn Tour to Lincoln to celebrate Pinnacle Bank Arena's 10th anniversary with fans on Tuesday, August 29. In honor of the sold-out concert, the city has temporarily renamed R Street to Zach Bryan Way. The temporary street renaming will remain in effect through the Zach Bryan concert. "We can't think of a better way to celebrate our 10th Anniversary than by welcoming Zach Bryan to Lincoln," said Savona. Concert attendees can enjoy cake on the concourse after doors open while supplies last.
Pinnacle Bank Arena has double cause for celebration as the venue is expected to clock its six millionth ticketed visitor by October 2023.
Pinnacle Bank Arena's largest gross concert ticket sales to date is George Strait in April 2022. The show with the highest number of tickets sold was Eric Church in May 2015. Garth Brooks performed five sold-out concerts in October 2017. Other sold-out shows include Michael Bublé, Justin Bieber, The Eagles, Billy Joel, Elton John, Bruno Mars, Jason Aldean, Metallica, P!NK, Bon Jovi, John Mayer, Kendrick Lamar, Carrie Underwood, Cher, James Taylor, Paul McCartney, Katie Perry, Pearl Jam, Thomas Rhett, Fleetwood Mac, Florida Georgia Line, Snoop Dog, TOOL, Kenny Chesney, Florida Georgia Line, Shania Twain, Blake Shelton, Maroon 5, Alan Jackson, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jeff Dunham, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.
Other notable events include the Light Welterweight Championship Boxing Match between Terence Crawford vs. Julius Indongo, B1G Wrestling Championships, NORCECA Volleyball Tournament, and two NBA pre-season games — Chicago Bulls vs. Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Denver Nuggets.
The resurgence of Pinewood Bowl for concerts has been running parallel to Pinnacle Bank Arena's first ten years and under the same management. Since 2012, Pinewood Bowl has hosted over 100 shows, totaling over 300,000 attendees.
Savona concluded, "The past ten years have provided many memorable experiences, none of which would be possible without the vision and everyday support of many in the community, especially the fans who have continued to turn out for events. To everyone, we say "Thank You."
