RFA 30

September 18, 2015

About The Event

Resurrection Fighting Alliance (RFA) President Ed Soares announced the event will return home to its roots in Nebraska with RFA 30 on Friday, September 18 at Pinnacle Bank Arena. RFA hosted its first fight card in the Cornhusker state in December 2011 and has since promoted MMA events in 13 states across three time zones. “RFA started in Nebraska and a lot of our history happened in the great Cornhusker state," said Soares. “I’m happy to announce that we will be back with RFA 30.”

The entire main card will be televised live and nationwide on AXS TV at 10 p.m. ET / 9 p.m. CT.

Scheduled to fight at RFA 30 are three of the state’s biggest MMA stars. Anthony “Lionheart” Smith (22-11), Ryan Roberts (21-10-1), and Darrick Minner (13-4) are all slated to compete on the main card. Smith and Roberts, who are both veterans of the UFC, will be making their RFA debut in front of their home crowd. Meanwhile, Minner is a longtime RFA fan favorite. This will be Minner's fifth appearance at RFA.

Also scheduled to return is former University of Nebraska wrestler James Nakashima (2-0). The Cornhusker wrestling standout was a main training partner of 2012 Olympic gold medalist Jordan Burroughs during their time on the wrestling mats in Lincoln. Nakashima now trains at The MMA LAB in Glendale, Arizona, and is widely considered one of the most promising welterweight prospects in the sport. Nakashima will be competing at RFA for a third time this year just like Nebraska based flyweight prospect Kevin “Pocket Herc” Gray (5-2). This will be the fourth overall appearance for Gray at RFA.

The RFA 30 fight card, bout announcements, and further information regarding this event will be announced soon. RFA 30 will be the sixth event to take place in Nebraska since its inception in 2011.
