Nebraska Men vs. Arkansas-Pine Bluff

Barclays Center Classic

November 24, 2015

About The Event

The Nebraska basketball team wraps up the Lincoln portion of the Barclays Center Classic, as the Huskers (3-1) host Arkansas-Pine Bluff (1-3) at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

PREVIEWING ARKANSAS-PINE BLUFF
Arkansas-Pine Bluff comes into Tuesday’s game with a 1-3 record following a loss at Cincinnati on Sunday. The Golden Eagles have played a challenging schedule, taking on Oklahoma State, Michigan State and Cincinnati in their last three games and will play 17 games before playing their first home game of the 2015-16 season.

UAPB, under the direction of eighth-year coach George Ivory, returns three starters from a team that went 13-19 last year. The Golden Lions opened with a win at Seattle before falling at Oklahoma State, 86-74 to begin a three-game losing streak. Senior JoVaughn Love is the team’s leading scorer, as he averages team highs in both scoring (11.8) and rebounding (6.4). He had 15 points and nine rebounds in their win over Seattle and 21 points against Oklahoma State.

Series history: Nebraska is 4-0 all-time against Arkansas-Pine Bluff, but the teams have not met since an 83-40 Husker win on Nov. 15, 2010. In that game Christian Stanhardinger led NU with 20 points and 11 rebounds off the bench. The Huskers are 19-1 all-time against the current members of the SWAC.
